    摘 要随着全球化趋势的不断扩展以及跨文化交际的增加,学者们越来越关注影响交流的各种因素,语用失误逐渐成为了学者们所关注的影响跨文化交际顺利进行的障碍。这篇论文运用定量、对比和文献研究的方法。主要探讨了语用失误的定义,分类,造成语用失误的原因以及初中生语用失误的各种现象。在从大体上理解了语用失误之后,提出了在跨文化交际中避免语用失误的方法以及怎样在中学英语教学中提高跨文化交际能力的建议。29242

    Abstract
    With the rapid development of globalization and the increase of intercultural communication, the factors affecting communication are drawing much more attention from the researchers; Pragmatic failure has gradually become the biggest barrier to successful intercultural communication. And the main methods used in the paper are qualitative approach, contrast and comparison, and documentary research. This paper mainly discusses the definition, classification, causes of pragmatic failure and the phenomena of pragmatic failure committed by senior middle school students. After getting the general understanding of pragmatic failure, the way to lessen and avoid it in cross-culture communication and the recommendations on improving senior middle school students’ cross-cultural communicative ability through English teaching are provided.

    I. Introduction
    A smooth and successful communication with people from different cultures is urgently required in the situation that all the nations have been brought into a common “Global Village”. However, communication breakdowns, embarrassment, even offensive still happen all the time, not because of the non-native speaker’s errors in syntax, or their inaccurate pronunciation in the target language, but due to the unawareness of the difference in ways of thinking, rules of speaking, and social values, or the failure of understanding of a speaker’s intention. Even the English learners, who have studied English for dozens of years, mastered a large vocabulary and English grammar will make cultural mistakes in communication with foreigners. So it is very necessary and important to further study, break the obstacle of communication, avoid pragmatic failure and make it free. To make it, the traditional grammar-oriented or examination-oriented English teaching in china is out of date. The ultimate goal of foreign language teaching and learning is to communicate effectively in the target language.
