In 2013, Wang Yushu analyzed conflict talks among family members in Modern Family in her paper A Pragmatic Analysis of Conflict Talks among Family Members in Modern Family by adopting both qualitative and quantitative approaches. And she indicated that “Conflict talk is a common occurrence in daily communication, which has both negative and positive sides”. (Wang, 2013, P46)
