Abstract：The Peace Corps was established in 1961 by Kennedy, President of the United States, as an institution of international volunteer work. It dispatches young volunteers to provide face to face technical assistance for the local people in developing countries, benefiting the recipient countries in education, agriculture, heath care and other aspects. The Peace Corps is a mature and excellent volunteer project with complete organization, management and planning, which will be a lesson for Chinese Young Volunteers Overseas Service Program that started late in the area of volunteer service. This article will mainly discuss the activities, development and achievements of American Peace Corps, and making research on enlightenment of the Peace Corps on Chinese Youth Volunteer Overseas Service Program from several aspects, as well as some other suggestions so as to promote our overseas service program. A volunteer service brand with Chinese characteristics should be created to enhance Chinese cultural soft power and international influence.29522

摘要：和平队是美国统肯尼迪于1961年建立的一个从事国际性志愿工作的机构，派遣以青年为主力的志愿人员，向发展中国家当地人民进行面对面手把手的技术援助服务，为受援国公众在教育、农业、医疗等方面带来切实的好处。和平队是一个成熟和出色的项目，其组织管理，规划经验等对于在这一领域起步晚，实践少的“中国青年志愿者海外服务计划”来说，有着积极的借鉴意义。本文将主要探讨美国和平队的活动内容，发展及其成就，并从多个角度研究和平队的经验给中国青年志愿者海外服务计划带来的启示，以及需要注意的问题，完善我国的海外志愿服务，创建有中国特色的志愿服务品牌，提升我国的文化软实力和国际影响力。

Research on Enlightenment of American Peace Corps for Chinese Youth Volunteer Overseas Service Program
1. Introduction
Featured with smaller investment, much benefit, flexible mode and accessible to recipient countries, overseas volunteer service is a new foreign aid project that differs from the government project cooperation. It has enriched the contents and broadened the fields of foreign aid, and played a unique role in consolidating and strengthening the friendship of China and recipient countries. At the same time, it helps cultivate a large number of young elite talents with international view for the country.
