摘 要:米芾是宋代著名的书法家,在中国书法史上占有重要地位。米芾的书学思想对后代产生了重要影响,米芾作为宋代书法史上,书法有其独特风貌的书家,其书论的阐发也有其自身的特色,在米芾的书论当中,争论最多的莫过于“八面出锋”,通过梳理笔者了解到,在米芾的书论当中从来没讲过,“八面出锋”他所说的是“字是八面”只是到清代的时候王澍才提及“八面出锋”。本文在否定传为米芾所言 “八面出锋”说的基础上,重点分析米芾“字之八面”的内涵。米芾所言“字之八面”针对的是字的势态而言,他的意思想要传达给我们的是字的动态感和立体感,富有变化。这种丰富的变化与用笔之法有密切的关系。通过文献梳理与图像的解读,使我们对书法结构势态的认识较以前有了更为深刻的感受。59059

宋代文化在中国历史的长河中可谓璀璨,文化艺术异常繁荣。宋代书法史在中国书法史的历史长河中扮演者重要的角色,米芾亦可是宋代思想文化的产物,其书论也有着很好的代表性,在书法学习过程中,今人自会向古人学习,探讨他们成功的经验。北宋的米芾是我们取法的重要书家,常有人说米芾用笔方法是自谓“八面出锋”,可是巡遍米芾相关史料,未见米芾有“八面出锋”一说,他只说过:“善书者只得一笔,我独有四面。” 还说过 “字之八面,唯尚真楷见之”等。“字之八面”与“八面出锋”分别指向什么?其实际含义并未见相关文章或论著就此说展开令人信服的讨论。故本文想对狭隘的“八面出锋”作出批评,并对米芾提出的“字之八面”的内涵与外延作出梳理,以期得到比较合理的解释。就目前研究状况,“八面出锋”有两种说法,一是就书写的结果而言,书写时毛笔的入锋和出锋的方向不同;另一种说法是和毛笔这一锥状物而言,毛笔有多个面,由于用笔的不同会形成多个锋面。通过检索米芾书论发现,米芾在其书论当中说的是“字之八面”他从来没讲过“八面出锋”只是在演化的过程中清代王澍才提到“八面出锋”。并且米芾所言“字之八面”和王澍所言“八面出锋”讲的也不是同一个意思。米芾所言“字之八面指的是字有立体感而不是平面化的,处在一个三维空间当中。王澍所言“八面出锋”指向的是笔画,由于用笔的不同,笔画的锋势变化比较明显。写此论文是想通过文献梳理,对“字之八面”做新的理解和阐发,纠正现代人对“八面出锋”的错误理解。
